The Governance, Performance and Capability team
The Governance, Performance and Capability team manage the relationships where the Māori Trustee is appointed as Custodian Trustee, or as an Agent for Responsible Trustees. The team also administers trusts where the Court has appointed the Māori Trustee to undertake a specific role (i.e. administer the lease), in the absence of any Responsible Trustees or a Trust Structure.
If you are the Responsible Trustee of an Ahu Whenua Trust, you can appoint Te Tumu Paeroa to be your agent and you can choose the services you would like to purchase from us that best support you. We specialise in servicing the needs of each individual trust. This includes providing training tools and products to increase governance and capability for owners and trustees.
Services we can provide you with:
and tax agency
administration and more
If you’re interested in finding out more about what we can do for your Trust and your whenua, please contact Trust Consultant, Monique Johnson.
The team also equip owners and
trustees with the necessary tools to increase their governing capabilities.
In our view the successful development of our land requires the successful development of our people – our greatest asset.
We believe that more emphasis needs to be placed on assisting trustees to exercise good governance and leadership over their assets that have been entrusted to them for the benefit of current and future generations. To this endeavour, Te Tumu Paeroa have supported the development of a Level 4 Certificate in Māori Governance Programme – ‘He Manu Taiko’ which is offered by Toi Ohomai Polytechnic. More recently, we have developed Te Tumu Whairawa, our financial capability course.
