E pōhara ana tātou i tō wehetanga atu, e te rangatira.

Haere ki ō tīpuna, ki tō Atua, ki te moengaroa o maumahara.

Haere, okioki atu.

The Māori Trustee and Te Tumu Paeroa, would like to acknowledge the passing of rangatira Sir Michael Cullen last Thursday. Much aroha to his whānau including his wife Anne Collins, their four children and eight grandchildren.

The former Labour deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister was behind establishing KiwiSaver, the "Cullen" NZ Superannuation Fund and Working for Families. He was also instrumental in establishing Kiwibank in 2002.

Many of these legacies he has left behind will continue to provide a more secure economic future for Aotearoa.

We extend our condolences to his whānau and friends at this difficult time.

Ngā mihi
